We’ll meet at noon with the dish to share at the clubhouse. Then at 1, we’ll go down to the boats on Tyee Dock 2 to practice the 8 knots that sailors need to know. (Yes, there are plenty more to learn- these are pretty consistently listed as the most used for sailing.)

Knots we’ll be practicing:

1. Bowline

2. Cleat hitch

3. Clove hitch

4. Reef knot

5. Rolling hitch

6. Round turn and two half hitches

7. Sheet bend

8. Stopper knot

This will be done at the dock, with multiple boats and skippers, allowing you to see a variety of set ups and test your line handling. Bring your friends! This is a great opportunity to practice before the June 1 Day Sail Rally.
