Cruising Day-Sail Rally

TIME: 11am – Check-In.
11:45 am – Skippers Meeting on dock
12:00 pm – Rally Start Time
Course time: approx. three to four hours
LOCATION: Foss Waterway Seaport Public Dock (by Rock the Dock), Tacoma WA 98402
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all CYCT Full Members & Guests, Associate and Crew- Members. If you are a Crew Member and would like a ride, please RSVP to cruising@cyct.com

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded at the end of the Rally for 1st, 2nd, and 3 place
ENTRY FEE: $10 per boat for the Rally Entry, and $5 dollar Lady Luck ante
RSVP: By May 10, 2022 at Noon (there will be a limit of 15 boats)

What is a “Rally” how does it differ from a “Race”?
In a race you race for time, in a Rally the winner is determined by points.
Points are awarded by having all the proper safety gear on-board, by flying the US Flag and Club Burgee, by following the Rally Instructions and the proper course.
The rally course is not published beforehand, you have to figure it out by the clues that are given in the Rally Instructions.
A Lady Luck Poker run game also part of the rally, so bring a $5 dollar ante to join the game and an additional $5 for an after/on-the-dock optional side bet.
Be sure to fly the American Flag and your CYCT burgee! (you will lose points if you do not). Also be sure to have all the required US Coast Guard safety equipment for “Near-Shore”.
Check in time: Be tied up to the dock by 11:00 am. Be prepared to raft up if there is no dock space. Boats will be checked in as you arrive at the dock.
