The Coast Guard estimate that 1500 boaters go overboard every year.  About 1/3 of the don’t make it back onto the boat.  The purpose of this exercise is to provide crews and cruisers an opportunity to practice the critical skills of recovering an overboard crew member in a safe environment.  Romeo Charlie will be with us in the practice area as a safety boat.

We want to emphasize that this in an opportunity for your crew to practice with your equipment on your boat.  Below are several video links that will provide you with useful instruction on the use of the Lifesling and how to maneuver your boat in the event a crew member goes in the drink.
